Our studio facility & history

Our Fully Equipped Photography and Video Studio

Quietly over the last 6 years we have been building our facility into one of the nicest studios in Gloucestershire, it’s not the biggest at 1200 sq ft but it’s a really lovely place to work and we do have our eyes on a larger studio which should be built on the same estate sometime in the next year, we will let you know when it happens.

We don’t often boast but here we go…our overriding emphasis in our work is to provide our clients with THE best possible image quality possible and we do this using the very latest and most reliable equipment available in the world, we shoot mainly onto medium format cameras made by the incredible PhaseOne, these cameras and the 100Mp digital back we own are simply well beyond any other manufacturers, technologically and in build quality, their lenses are far superior to any other too, we are super proud to own this kind of equipment and much, much poorer financially because of it! Our lighting gear is equally as impressive, we use the brilliant Broncolor flash lighting, made in Switzerland and generally regarded as the best in the business, again we have invested huge amounts of money into this equipment. Following on this theme, everything else we own and use to create your photography is simply the best available in the world today and we hope it shows.

If you have any questions regarding image quality and equipment please just email us and we will endeavour to enlighten you (no pun intended).

About Andy

A brief history is probably required here…I began my career many years ago learning the hard way - with film! I did O and A levels at night school, moved onto a HND full time for 2 years and then finally 3 years degree in Design Photography at the legendary Blackpool College of Photography and fine art. I worked in the North West for many years shooting all over the world mainly for clothing brands and particularly outdoor clothing & equipment for clients like Lowe Alpine, North Face, Craghoppers, Royal Robbins, ATA and a few others. Moving to Gloucestershire in 2014 I set up Imagemaker Studios initially from a small unit in Tewkesbury and moved to our current facility 2 years later…so there’s some pedigree there. I pride myself on years of technical & creative knowledge which enables an ‘adult’ approach to making images, I understand the concept of photography being a visual act of communication between the viewer and the creator, I understand the fundamental need for images to convey messages and I have worked tirelessly over the last 27 years to fine hone that skill through imagination and design. Most of all though I understand the need and processes for imagery to be unique to the client and their visual communication to their customers.

Just below is a small promo video shot for us by our friends at Squashed Robot Films just giving a brief insight into the mindset of this business…enjoy.
